Famous painters Jiang Guofang, Xia Xing and Liu Dahong will represent Schoeni Gallery at the Hong Kong International Art Fair '95
The 4th Hong Kong International Art Fair (ART ASIA '95) will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center from November 16 to 20, 1995. As one of the representatives of Hong Kong, Schoeni Gallery will fully participate in the exhibition this year, so as to introduce the important painters recommended by Schoeni Art Gallery to art dealers, collectors and art lovers from all over the world.
This year, the Hong Kong International Art Fair specially invited Jiang Guofang, Xia Xing and Liu Dahong as special guests for this exhibition. As a major gallery in Hong Kong, in order to be compatible with various art schools and styles, the gallery insists on promoting paintings of different styles by modern Chinese painters on a long-term and worldwide basis. However, the level of artistic sophistication is consistent, which also reflects the position of the gallery in the art world.
Finally, based on the financial support of European community collaborators and their enthusiasm for the promotion of Chinese modern oil painting, we have specially published a book " Contemporary Chinese Oil Painting – from Realism to Post-Modernism” with the theme of the development of Chinese oil painting over the past 100 years. In order to provide people from all walks of life with an understanding of Chinese oil painting, we specially invited a famous art history critic, James Cahill, a professor of fine arts at California State University and director of the Institute of East Asian Studies, to write an essay entitled “Oil Painting in China – Rejecting, Reshaping or Replacing tradition” article, and we also invited a number of authoritative critics in the Chinese art world, such as Shui Tianzhong, Fan Di’an, Shao Dazhen, Yin Shuangxi, Liu Xiao, and others to contribute as well. With the help of the European Economic Community, the book was promoted to all over the world. This special album will be on sale at the Hong Kong International Art Fair.
